NTX Practical Shooters is a defensive pistol shooting club affiliated with IDPA striving to promote safe gun handling and provide practical competition matches related to self-defense and concealed carry .
Our club hosts an IDPA match on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Jacob's Plain Gun Club in Greenville, Texas.
Our matches consist of 6 stages designed to be practical, challenging and of course fun. We welcome all level of shooters - beginners and experts, men, women and juniors.
If you're interested in using truly practical pistols to solve challenging and exciting defensive shooting problems, then IDPA is the sport for you, and NTXPS is the shooting club for you to be involved with. Come out and join us.

Official IDPA rules can be found in the IDPA Rule Book but much of it does not apply to the basic shooting and you can learn as you progress. However, as with any sport, there are a few rules but that should not deter you from coming out and experiencing what IDPA and NTXPS have to offer.

The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 and now boasts membership of more than 22,000 including members in 50 foreign countries.
One of the unique facets is that it is geared towards the new or average shooter, yet is fun, challenging and rewarding for the experienced shooters. The use of practical handguns and holsters that are suitable for self-defense use with a main goal of testing the skill and ability of an individual.
